Hi,

I'm new to this area and looking for any suggestions for a nice romantic dinner spot.

Thanks!

The Ranche in Fish Creek is a great spot in the deep south

I'll also throw out the Newport Grill (on Lake Bonavista). Haven't been recently enough to know how the food's been of late... but if you reserve a table right on the window (overlooking the lake), I can't think of a better view/ambiance for a restaurant in South Calgary (although, probably still not quite as nice as in the summer). Just hope the food can hold up to the setting.

You might like Redwater Grille on MacLeod Trail South. It's not hugely original but I've been there are few times and have left satisfied. However, I have a feeling they might be already booked up for Valentine's Day.

Across the street, there's a good looking new Greek restaurant called Kefi. I haven't been but I've been curious.

iirc Siraia at Sirocco Golf Club has a good rep with at least a few around here. http://www.siraia.ca/

the Glory of India V-day special is a 3 course meal for two $39.95 - I have never been there, but I have heard that it is very good. I just happened to walk past it today after work.

It is really good but it's located downtown.

I like Bistro Provence in Okotoks. It is very much bistro. There it is all about the food. The decor and flatware are pretty simple, but the food is excellent as well as good value.
