Vetri To Offer Tasting Menus Only
The article is in today's Phila. Inquirer. Vetri will be moving to tasting menus only beginning in March. However, it looks as if you will have a choice of menu. The article lists Classic Vetri Menu, Degustazione, Pasta Tasting, and Vegetarian options.
Not sure if the price will be the same for all menus, but $135 is mentioned.

if they offered smaller portions of the mains, it would be so much easier to eat more courses and get the full experience they're looking to offer.
I only ate at Vetri one time (it was excellent) and we ordered ala carte...that's both what we could afford and what made sense for our food preferences and appetite (I have a big appetite but find the idea of too many courses/plates, even when very small in size, to be overwhelming/off-putting). That being said, while I'd love to be able to go back, even if I had a lot more money than I do, it would be tough for me to pay that much money for a vegetarian meal (though I appreciate that he is offering a vegetarian tasting menu since they aren't that easy to come by). It's wonderful food and the restaurant has a wonderful ambience (which hopefully will remain as opposed to going the route of becoming "stuffy") but for someone like me it doesn't make sense. I hope to get a reservation in the next month before they make the switch!
