Venice near Accademia / Zattero
Hi, I will be staying for a few days just between the Accademia and the Zattero terminal. I found most of the Dorsoduro restaurants on this board quite far west from there.
Do you know any interesting mom&pop trattoria or pizzeria al legno near my area? Should be lower price range and simple but delicious food. Can be crowded and informal. Also, I will be there over the weekend, so anything open on Sunday evening or open until late in general would be great to know!
Thank you!

Dorosoduro is a small sestiere and if you are staying between the Accademia and Zattere, you are right in the middle. The eastern part of Dorsoduro is mostly residential with very few eating places. Taverna San Trovaso is nearby with a large mostly traditional Venetian menu of decent to decent to good food, moderately priced, lively ambience, popular with local families as well as visitors. 4 Feri is more mom and pop with pretty good food. Nearby are two excellent wine bars, Vini Padovani and Cantinone Vino Gia Schiavit hat serve only cichetti, great for lunch and late afternoon spritz. Just walk west near Cp San Barnaba are some good moderately priced places: Oniga, right on the campo, is good for simple outdoor lunch; nearby are La Bitta (no seafood) and Incontro; La Furatola is seafood only and is very good but more expensive. For pizza, go to Casin del Nobili or ai Profeta. Wood burning oven is banned in Venice proper so don't count on any pizzeria al legna. Just further rest is large Campo Santa Margherita, a happening area with a diverse crowd. The campo is lively with cafes, bars, and a few eating places with outdoor sitting that are mostly forgettable. On the southern end is a decent osteria with decent pizza, etc. I can’t remember the name right now. The area around the campo has many informal inexpensive places that caters to the nearby university.
Keep in mind that what you are looking for: "lower price range and simple delicious food" is not easy to come by in Venice. Simple and informal is a norm. Seafood is expensive and one has to pay for it regardless if the preparation is simple. Even with places with good recommendations, it is not guarantee of getting a good meal. Just have to ride with it. Don't restrict yourself to Dorosduro because there are good places in San Polo and many inexpensive places in Cannaregio.-----

re: PBSF
Ae Oche on the Zattere could be a useful choice for pizza - they have good salads too Also one of the Pane, Vino e San Daniele branches for a light meal.
Ive added some links for some of the other restaurants so you can see where they map out.
there is some mediocre eating in Piazza Santa Margherita because it is a student area (AiSportivi, for example), you can do better. However in her current edition Scibilia does reccomend Alla Bifora, which I hadnt heard about before, for light meals.-----
