Chinese trade school cooking schools?

A friend said that he was told that there are cooking schools in SF for Chinese people who want to work in restaurants. He said these advertisements usually run in Chinese newspapers. Does anyone have any information about these?

He is interested in going to one of these. He runs a mind-blowing amazing restaurant and wants to learn to cook Chinese food. He doesn't want to attend the latest frou-frou chef of the moment Chinese cooking class. He wants to learn how Chinese cooks learn.

If he REALLY wants an intensive program, nonstop Chinese cooking for two weeks, he should check out www.cookingschoolinchina.com ... a short hop on a plane to Chengdu and he can study at the Sichuan Higher Institute of Cuisine, which IS China's top culinary institute.

Do you know if they offer courses/programs in Chinese pastries? I called the number, but the number is disconnected.

The sign says "Chinatown Western Chef's Cooking School." I don't think they offer course in Chinese food cooking.

Yes, they have operated and we've discussed them here but I can't find the threads. Does he speak Chinese? The language of instruction is likely Cantonese.
