Tangerine Cafe --Cary, NC

Yum! And in Cary no less. My husband, son and I shared the fried calamari appetizer. Everybody loved it. Also shared the salmon and fruit salad. It was very nice. The salmon was cooked perfectly, and although it's billed as a "fruit" salad, it's served over mixed mesculin greens with thinly sliced fruit and a nice vinaigrette. I had their Pho, which I very much enjoyed. My husband had the Thai vegetable curry to which they added chicken and shrimp for him since he likes his protein. It was great too. We'll definitely go back. It must be a pretty well kept secret here in Cary. It's in a strip mall, the signage lights were not working and unless we knew exactly where we were going, we would have missed it. The place is small, the ambiance not very exciting, but the waiter was friendly and helpful.

  1. The value at lunch time is excellent. You can get soup and an entree for $5-8. I like their coconut soup and their lentil soup. The menu goes kind of all over the place. The Korean beef is a little bland, and I wouldn't say the other dishes I've tried have been great, but respectable at least. Nasi Goreng (fried rice) is pretty good. I believe the prices go way up for dinner.
