need live music tonight near Omni Parker Hotel

chuba Feb 5, 2011 03:33 PM

Came to Boston from Toronto to see the Bruins game. Had a great dinner at Fours after the matinee game, now looking for some live music nearby and a good brunch for tomorrow morning. (Went to the Paramount near Beacon Hill this morning)

Appreciate your help. You've helped me before.

Bit of a longer cab ride or right on the red Line in Davis Square Somerville is Johhny D's for great live music

Best high end (but not unduly fancy or unduly expensive) brunch in town is at Mistral, a short cab ride from your hotel.

If you're up for a short cab ride, you could head to the Beehive in the South End for some live music and drinks.

Boston's South End has lots of good choices.

These places are all on Tremont St.:

            Masa, with a southwestern flavor
Metropolis, a casual, comfy place for brunch
Tremont 647, pajama-clad servers, fun food
            Acquitaine, French, bargain special
            Pops, fun and tasty

            On Washington St.
Union Bar and Grill, reasonably-priced specials, good food

            On Shawmut Ave.:
South End Buttery, an interesting space downstairs and good food, not super cheap

            On Columbus Ave.:
Columbus Cafe, laid back and pleasant

            On Harrison Blvd.:
Gaslight, a casual bistro with a decent menu

On Berkeley St in the Back Bay.:
Geoffrey's Cafe and Bar. I haven't been yet, but many hounds enjoy it.

On Salem St. in the North End:
Caffe Nuovo, with some Italian offerings like good carbonara, polenta and broccoli rabe sausage, and an excellent Prime steak and eggs

Oh, and the Beehive also does a pretty good brunch.

Hope you have fun wherever you end up. Enjoy Boston!

Oh, and I should have mentioned Wally's Cafe on Mass. Ave. for live jazz. tonight.
