good place for a romantic weekday lunch with excellent food?

I don't do many lunchtime dates, so I need some help here. Pulling out all the stops! I need some nice atmosphere, and wonderful food. Has to be open for lunch, of course. I'm usually more of a "hole in the wall" person, but I need something truly special here. All neighborhoods considered, all types of cuisine ok, and long as it can hold potential for a long, romantic afternoon.

    Somewhat conventional: Geoffrey's in Malibu.
Bolder: room service at the Mondrian.

Cafe del Rey in Marina del Rey.
one advantage is that they are open continuously between lunch and dinner, whereas many restaurants aren't.
second advantage is that your car can stay parked there while you stroll around the boats in the marina.
third advantage is the food is good
fourth advantage is that they will have no problem giving you a table where you can sit next to each other ( as opposed to sitting across the table from each other) this makes it easy to have a little cuddle action between courses.
fifth advantage is a good wine list
sixth advantage is that virtually every table has a pretty view of the boats in the marina

I'll second Cafe del Rey. Works for me.

I would go somewhere with a lovely patio, such as Spago, Micheal's, or Whist.
