Pie in the North Bay
Best pies in the North Bay - especially Marin and Sonoma counties?
Mine: Humble Pie formerly of Rohnert Park has reopened in Santa Rosa under Blue Label, still has pies, but I not like they used to (only 1 or 2 it seems like, though still very tasty).
Newest entry is Marge American Sweets, a welcomed addition by Megan Gordan, who is selling her tasty treats at the Marin Country Mart Farmers Market on Saturdays. She has other sweets as well, but pie is clearly, happily the focus and I had the most awesome lemon: http://www.margebakery.com
I like the pie at Valley Ford Market, available whole or by the slice, and made with an all-butter crust.
Has anyone tried Petaluma Pie Company yet?

I've been buying Christine's Upper Crust Pies for many years for special occasions (about the only time I buy pies). They're made in San Rafael (you can buy them there) and are sold at Whole Foods and other good markets.

United Market does a nice job with pies and other baked goods. Fancy bakeries in Marin seem to have vanished, so bakery sections in upscale markets seem to be the best bet.
