Davisville/Mt. Pleasant Delivery & Sushi

Im at Davisville and Mt. Pleasant and am looking for some "go to" delivery spots. Im looking for anything and everything, cuisine wise, including:
Pizza (thin crust-Casa Di Giorgio is where I go now, but it is pick up only)
Sushi (good, fresh sushi please!)
Thai/South East Asian cuisine
Anything else is welcome as we arent fussy about the kind of food-I just want it to be of good quality, and not so expensive that it cant be ordered regularly.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

  1. Tabule will deliver good Middle Eastern fare - highly recommend the lentil soup, fried tomatoes, hummus, halumi salad, shish taouk, cauliflower with tahini and falafel.

Indian - if they'll deliver to your location, Copper Chimney is my new go-to spot. Fantastic food. Otherwise Amaya Express is pretty good.

Sushi - I've had mixed experiences with Fukui Sushi on Bayview - a few times very good and a couple of times just average. Haven't tried them lately but worth a shot. Not sure if Mikado on Laird delivers but that could be another option.

Pizza - ever since the local Terroni went on hiatus, I've been experimenting with pizza delivery. So far, I can recommend you DON"T order from Pizza Nova (though up in Thornhill, I had a great delivery from Pizza Nova so maybe it's hit and miss) or Panago.

    Good luck!

    1. re: peppermint pate

I second peppermint pate's reccos of Tabule and Amaya (haven't yet tried Copper Chimney, so can't comment).

I too am missing take-out from Terroni, but have had better experiences with Pizza Nova than peppermint pate. Don't get me wrong - it's not remotely in the same league as Terroni (or other real Neapolitan style pizza places) but for a chain (ie. quick and cheap), I think it's pretty good/better than most -- our favourite is the thin-crust, well-done Portobelissimo (portobello mushrooms, sopressata and asiago).

NYCTummy, I'm curious about Casa di Giorgio -- we've contemplated picking up pizza from there, but (knowing nothing about it) haven't yet taken the plunge. What's it like?

Can't really help with Thai, as I have yet to discover any place that's really good (I would also love to hear others' suggestions).

    2. Debu's is excellent Indian and will deliver-

We do Satay on the Road (Bayview) for Thai- its pretty good.

      1. My favourite place for sushi at Yonge and Davisville is Sushi Supreme

        1. Bravo Pizza on Millwood superb and they deliver
Casa Di Girogio is closed and I never found it any good

Ngiri-ya sushi is takeout and expensive but worth it every now and then, a few small tables too
there are no decent Chinese joints in this area for dine in or takeout

          1. I'm in Leaside, these are my staples - after living in the area for 15 yrs.

Pizza - Mamas or Pizza Nova ( I know they're mainstream, but they get it right every time imo) Bravo on Millwood is also quite good. I think they use unprocessed cheese.

Sushi - Sushi supreme is alright - very affordable, but not really quality. I'd go with either Mikado on Laird or even better Nigiri-ya on Millwood - absolutely amazing but pricey.

Thai - Satay on the road knows what they're doing.

Chinese - Still looking! China House on Millwood has been around forever, but it's standard, cheap quality stuff.

Indian - Kamasutra on Bayview is quite good, a little pricey though.
