Bistro Bis lately

Anyone been to Bistro Bis lately? I went tonight and had about the best steak tartare of my life. Now, I've been stuck at a conference most of the week and have been living off of protein shakes and some frozen soup I've squirelled away, so I may have been influenced by extreme hunger. But I stopped by after class today and had a glass of Cabernet Franc at the bar (excellent, but no bargain Happy Hour price- about $11 or $12 a glass) along with the steak tartare. It was just amazing, very classic mixed preparation (as opposed to "deconstructed" with the egg, capers, pepper, etc. served separately to be mixed in by the dinner). Beautiful bright pink color to the meat with streaks of fat mixed in. Generous portion size (about the size of a can of tuna), accompanied by amazing crusty bread and a small salad of shredded green apple an parsley. Glad I re-visited this old favorite, it's well worth a re-look if you haven't been in awhile, especially if you're craving the tartare.

That's very exciting--I'm going for the first time next weekend, and I love steak tartare. I guess now I now what I'm having!
