Where to find Demerara (raw) sugar in Berkeley, Oakland?

Is this type of sugar available at supermarkets, gourmet shops, natural food stores??

I think I've seen it at Whole Foods too, even at the location on Telegraph in Berkeley.

Whole Foods in Berkeley has it in the bulk bins for around $2.50/pound (I don't remember exact price)

Because I did not really want to make another trip to BB this week, I decided to try my local Lucky store (El Cerrito Plaza) I generally do not shop there at all, but they had the Demerara sugar for $3.23/lb in the aisle with all sugars That was Lucky!

I'm not surprised. I thought it was a pretty common item these days. Seems I've seen it at Safeway at Lake Tahoe even.

It's amazing what you'll find on the shelves of a "regular" supermarket if you really look (top shelf, bottom shelf, "International" or "ethnic" sections, etc.).

I'm pretty sure I've seen it at the original Bowl, in the baking section across from the bulk bins.

I have definitley seen it at the Pasta Shop. Berkeley Bowl may have it as well and maybe cheaper.

At Berkeley Bowl East, India Tree demerara sugar is $4.79 for a one-lb. bag, and the only demerara I've seen there. Turbinado, they have in the bulk bins (along with granulated, powdered, and golden brown, all cane), plus several brands in 24-oz. bags.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the Oregon Bowl has it either in the bulk bins or in a package across the aisle. I know I've gotten turbinado sugar there.
