Asian restaurants in Naples?
I would welcome recommendations for Asian restaurants in the Naples area. Any suggestions?
Home Thai Sushi Bar has great Thai. It's in the shopping plaza on the corner of 41 and Bonita Beach Rd. I haven't had their sushi. Blu Sushi is pretty good, as is Tokyo Bay but neither is as good as what you'll find in places like Chicago or San Francisco. I haven't found any authentic Chinese-they cater to Americans, not Asians, which isn't surprising considering the demographics in the area.
In Bonita, I recommend:
Home Thai Sushi Bar gotta try their duck!
David Wong's* Pan Asian 992-5600
I think Tokyo Bay is a notch down from these two
In Naples it's:
Charlie Chiang's gotta try their ribs, and duck as well as sushi and sashimi too.food is light, delicious and not "usual" Asian fare. I like to sit on the river and watch the eagles at their nest.
Daruma for Japanese and sushi and sashimi. Relaxing setting -I've never a complaint in years of visiting them.
USS Nemo also very good. hot shrimp apps and sea bass are tops.
Blue Fish has The best buffet of fresh sushi, sashimi, and many other items for steal of a deal. Quality is good for a buffet, not as good as 3 above spots.

re: An Insatiable Appetite
Ivan, I finally tried David Wong's on Friday night...specifically to try out the green papaya salad that I've heard so much about and no other Thai places in Naples offer it on their menu...loved it...but all of the servers were wearing Sushi Thai shirts!!! We asked if Sushi Thai now owns them but they said they were being "managed" by Sushi Thai...you have any idea what is going on? We totally enjoyed everything we ordered too but I noticed that David Wong's is only open for dinner now also.

That's big news to me, too! David Wong put his heart and soul into the fine quality. I noticed less cars there as I drove by, people want the happy hour offerings over better quality food. They don't support the independents, and when they hear the indie has closed, they just can't figure out why...
Hope the quality stays up and they keep the chefs who know so many cuisines.
I want to add "Fuji Sushi Bar" to my Naples Rec's-very good Thai and other Asian foods, and prices are easy on the wallet.
its Sushione for me--its always fresh. Norio knows his fish. the place is simple and the meals are consistent. even a simple green salad w ginger dressing tastes great there.
