Hello, I am sending a "New England" Themed present (mail order lobsters) to friends and would be most grateful for your recommendations on what provider is the best.

Thank you!

I use this guy. All kinds of cool combo packages too, not just lobsters but full clambakes if you want. Quality of his stuff is first class. just look at all the cool stuff on their site.

I can vouch for Lobster guy too, hhookk. Our dau & son in love sent us a clambake for 2 for Christmas last year. It was simply heavenly. You could smell and taste the ocean. The little spuds were perfect, the corn cob good, the stuffed flounder amazing, But the BUGS, they were superb. The best flavor ever. And the clams too. Everything in that clambake was just outstanding. It came in a tin can with instructions on how to cook, and it cooked in the can on top of the stove.

I have used Baileys Lobster Pound in Old Orchard Beach Maine for many years. They ship lobsters caught and frozen that day. So very good!!! Try the fresh crabmeat too!

Living up here in Maine, I always use Harbor Fish www.harborfish.com . I've sent many gift certificates. Harbor Fish keeps your credit card number and you are charged when the order is made (MP). This way they can decide when they want to eat their lobster. People from "away" usually love the whole deal. I believe the prices are fairly reasonable (you do get killed on shipping) although I don't think you can touch that Cosco deal (if it includes shipping).

I've used the Fresh Lobster Company (www.TheFreshLobsterCompany.com) before for lobster tails and scallops (my family loves lobster but I personally can't stand the stuff). The large lobster tails were HUGE (I'd personally never seen a lobster tail anywhere near them in size before) and my family said they were amazing. I'll have to take their word for it but I can say that the scallops were delish and very fresh tasting. They ship your order overnight on dry ice and it comes with easy to follow cooking instructions as well as a coupon towards your next order. I would definitely order from there again and would obviously recommend it to others.

          Good luck!

Many thanks for your help. In my research I found a pretty unbelievable deal at Costco.com

Six lobsters (minimum 1.5 pounds) for $139.99 delivered. Now that is a pretty fantastic deal!

I clicked over to check if shipping and handling is included and it is. That is a great deal. It says live Maine lobsters and I have to say that I've has some surprisingly good food from Costco.

Second James Hook. That's where I buy my lobsters and crabs. They can even ship a lobster pot with the gift if you think your friends might not have one.
