Hell's Kitchen and it's not even close.

You can get a filling and solid breakfast at Keys Cafe and Bakery in the Foshay Tower. My favorite is the No. 2 with Italian sausage hash browns.

Ikes (carmel rolls the size of your head are complimentary), and the food has always been solid.
But another vote here for Hells kitchen.... mmmmmm, best bloodys and interesting menu.

Ike's does a very decent breakfast downtown. You can get an omelet filled with their yummy chili.

Hell's Kitchen and Moose & Sadie's are the first two that come to mind. Neither is right next door, but a motivated person could walk it.

Major +1 for Moose & Sadie's. I dream of those caramel-pecan rolls. And there are some semi-healthy options on the menu in case that's desirable. Though the half-mile+ walk might take care of the health issues (thus freeing you up for a caramel roll...).

And you can get within 3-4 blks of Moose & Sadies via the skyway.

I'll give a +1 for Hell's Kitchen. Try the huevos rancheros and/or lemon ricotta pancakes. Both are great, in my opinion.
