Colicchio and sons, maialino, Osteria morini, Chang's places
Will be in NYC late this month by myself. Thinking of trying a few new restaurants and was wondering if anyone has thoughts on the above listed places. I love all of Meyer's places so I was thinking of maialino. I ate at marea a few months ago and thought it was great so was thinking of osteria morini. Colicchio's place looks really good and similar to how Gramercy was when he was there. Hav not been to any of Chang's restaurants so was wondering if worthwhile. I will be by myself most likely so that is a consideration in choosing a place that is good for eating by myself.

Colicchio and Sons -- personally I think the board has been buzzing more about his other new venture, Riverpark

re: kathryn
While Colicchio is personally involved in creating the menu and sometimes oversees the kitchen at Colicchio & Son (when he isn't busy with his t.v gig), I've read that though he is the owner of Riverpark, the food isn't his but is created by Executive Chef Sisha Otuzar. So, if samurai221 wants Colicchio's food, C&S would be the better choice.
We haven't been to C&S, but we have been to Riverpark, and the food is very good.

re: RGR
I've eaten at both C&S and Riverpark and enjoyed both equally. Slightly strange that the two look so similar (bulk discount from the interior designer??) but I'd very happily go back to either at the drop of a hat. The bread at C&S is worth a return visit on its own, but all the dishes were good and we also enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere. It was a little full of people on expense accounts who seemed to delight in causing hassle for the waiters, but the staff were great and gave us plenty of attention.
Riverpark was also great, and I thought it was excellent value. A little out of the way though. - I'd say either would be worthy of a visit.

re: uniqueusername
I actually just had RW at Riverpark and thought it was quite wonderful. I would go back for their reguar menu in a second for the Cesar salad and dessert. My entree was slightly off for me flavor wise but everything else was spot on...it was lovely.
