Is anyone going to the Taste of the NFL?
Some of the chefs seem interesting, and I've been to several of the restaurants that the chefs are representing......but......has anyone ever been to one of these? Is it worth my time to go? Granted, I'm not paying the $600 ticket, a supplier has offered to take me, but how does 3000 people at the Fort Worth convention center all trying to get a sample of food from about 40 chefs work logistically? Just seems that it's going to be really crowded.
Am I wrong?
I wonder how many regular, non-corporate, pay-out-of-your-own-pocket type people go to this event. $600 seems pretty steep for this type of thing.
I looked into this event awhile ago and all of the corporate tables had been sold out which seemed odd to me as there were still individual "VIP" tickets available as of the end of last week.
I volunteered at one a couple of years ago and i would say most definitely GO! I don't know that i would pay 600 a ticket unless i were super wealthy, but i thought the whole event was amazing. Lines to get food were not long at all...guests are just all over the place mingling, watching activities and guests on stage, walking around looking at items for a silent auction, spread around several different areas getting drinks, taking photos with guests, etc. There should be plenty of space and ample time for trying out all of the food. Most of the food was really good, some was ok, and i honestly don't remember trying anything i thought was bad. If you have the money, i would say consider going...but since you don't even have to pay, i would say absolutely go.
