In Ottowa due to storm - where to eat

My mother-in-law has a couple of extra days in Ottowa, thanks to the monster blizzard in the US, and needs recommendations for lunch and dinner places for tonight and tomorrow (and possibly Thursday). Price not an issue (she is from NYC). She loves nice dinners and hole-in-the-wall specialties. Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!

Also, Ottawa has really nice Shawarma. You could check it out. My favourite being Shawarma Palace and Castle Shawarma.

I highly recommend The Manx for gastropub quality grub and a cozy atmosphere. Located on Elgin St. at Frank.

Where is she staying? That might help us narrow down some choices for you.

My favourites are Wellington Gastropub, Play (in the market), Whalesbone for oysters, Nicastro's for an Italian sandwich, and the brunch at Domus is nice too. I also love the frites and aioli at the Metropolitain. And a family member recently enjoyed a dinner at Black Cat bistro. I know its not really ice cream weather, but she should try Pascale's which is sold at Thyme & Again and The Piggy Market, as well as various restaurants around town.

Forgot to mention Sweetgrass-its an Aboriginal bistro, and pretty unique to the Ottawa area. She won't be able to find something similar in NYC. President Obama also dove into some beavertails when he was in Ottawa.
