Has anyone tried "Ice Cream Bread" yet?
I'm not familiar with self-rising flour -- is it like Bisquick?

Self-rising flour is just flour with leavening agents added. I don't think I'd try to sub Bisquick.
If you have all-purpose flour, you can sub for self-rising by adding 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to each cup of all purpose flour.
I'm with alitria. I'm pretty sure Bisquick contains some kind of shortening-type product, and it wouldn't work as a sub for SRF. Which shouldn't be hard to find, if you were inclined to buy some, but is even easier to fake, as alitria said.
The recipe sounds bizarre in sort of an intriguing way . . . post back if you make it!
