Too Many Cooks, not enough recepies!
Help!
I have some friends coming into town this weekend and since I will have to work for some of the time they are here I wont be able to spend time cooking for them as much as I usually do.
Could you all please share some reasonably priced crockpot recipes that DO NOT CALL FOR CREAM OF ANYTHING soup?

When I use the crock pot, it usually takes more time/work than braising in the oven/on the stove. I don't like most crock pot dishes where you just throw everything in (if it doesn't work for the stove, why would it work better in the crock pot?). That said, I do like Carolina style pulled pork--without getting into a debate on whether it's "real" pulled pork or not:

It's a simple meal to pull together--add rolls or cornbread, cole slaw, done.
Another is a Moroccan chick pea stew. I vary it w/ the vegetables I have but like it the most w/ eggplant (or zucchini which is harder to get in winter):

I serve w/ crusty bread and it's a hearty healthy meal.
