India Palace Burnsville

We had four really good meals at India Palace in Burnsville last Friday (1/28/2011). I'm not an expert on Indian, but here's what I liked:

1. The lamb saag lamb was flavorful and tender, not overcooked and dried out like I've had some places. The spinach sauce was flavorful and well balanced with the meat.

2. The onion naan was really really tasty. I could have devoured two or three orders of this by myself. I look forward to trying the other adulterated naans on the menu.

3. The veggi balti was delicious.

4. The dal was very good.

5. The Stella Artois' were fresh and went very well with the Indian food.

6. The server was attentive without being invasive.

I'd definitely eat here before I'd go to any of the stock mall-area chains like Red Lobster or Olive Garden.

The restaurant is on the south side of County 42 maybe 1/2 mile to 1 mile west of 35W.

I've been here it's pretty good for Burnsville. I certainly wasn't disappointed with my food. That being said its not something anyone should travel across the river for but if you find yourself in Burnsville its an option.

While I agree with the OP and your assessment, I suggest eating at Sambol over India Palace if you're looking for "better than buffet" Indian SOTR.

I want to try Sambol, but the reviews online are SO mixed it's hard to want to.

Well my experiences have always been very positive at Sambol (buffet and dinner) and my experiences at India Palace have been nothing but mediocre. India Palace is fine and all when compared to a place like the $5 one-trip "buffet" at Kabobs downtown but it's not a place I'd take someone to go if they wanted to experience decent Indian food.

I too liked Sambol more than India Palace, but it's in Eagan and I was in in Burnsville and did not have time to drive to Eagan. And compared to anything within a 3 mile radius, India Palace is top notch.

Because there's no other Indian restaurants in a 3 mile radius or are you trying to compare India Palace to any other restaurants around? Because I just can't get behind the latter.

I'll give Sambol a shot, then, why not? But TBH I haven't been blown away with any of the restaurants in that area... no matter what nationality. The only Indian places that I would actually recommend to anyone are far north of the Minnesota River. It seems that the TC suburbs are cursed with quite a few high priced but uninspired Indian places these days.

                  That I certainly agree with.
