Does anybody know where to get some good Colombian fare in KC? We just moved here a few months ago. Would love to hear some suggestions. Also how about a Colombian/ South American market?

  1. I believe they've changed ownership since Ferruzza reviewed them in the Pitch, but Rincon Colombiano is the one I've heard the most about, mostly positive: http://www.pitch.com/2005-10-27/resta... There are conventional groceries that cater to the Latinos, the Price Chopper in Roeland Park comes to mind, as well as the one in JoCo on Metcalf near 119th. There are also several smaller markets, but I don't know of one owned by Colombians. You might try asking at La Posada or one of the other markets on SW Blvd. if Rincon Colombiano doesn't know of one. You can also get good Venezuelan food here, if that's of interest?

    1. Try El Porton near Roe and 105th. It's not precisely Colombian but rather South American across the board: arepas, empanadas, pabellon, tostones etc. While it's a little hit and miss, it's very good when they are on their game.
