Has anyone had a well constructed Mac and Cheese with Truffle Oil recently? Would love suggestions!

Death & Co serves mac and cheese with truffled bread crumbs and it's divine. It comes pre-divided into 8 spoons, for sharing.

Waverly Inn has a fantastic truffled mac and cheese. Deliciously rich and creamy with a pronounced truffle flavor. Although I enjoy eating it, I'm not sure I think it's worth the $125 they charge for it (yes, that's not a typo!). But for you CHers out there with fat wallets, it might not matter.

Oh, and yes - it is a side dish. It was not presented on the menu as a main course.

I haven't lived in New York since '06, but at that time my absolute favorite was the black truffle mac & cheese at Le Zie in Chelsea. It has real truffle shavings. I think it's also amped-up with truffle oil, but the result is delicious regardless.

The decor and overall atmosphere are fun, and the price isn't bad.

              Ahh, nostalgia!
