The Creole Chef in Baldwin Hills?

Has anyone been to The Creole Chef? This place was just listed in today's Daily Candy and sounds great.

3715 Santa Rosalia Dr., b/t Malton Ave. & Stocker St., Baldwin Hills (323-294-2433)

I've been to the Creole Chef 3 or 4 times. It's always been excellent. The food is great...not too spicy, but full of flavor and exactly how you'd expect creole cooking. and the staff is always very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

They closed their original location after a robbery happened in March of 2009. they had promised to re open somewhere but I have not seen any news of a new place since then

We went last week for the first time. I had the Jambalaya Po-Boy decribed on the menu as "A Creole Chef Original...$7.95, Andouille & Hot Beef Sausage, Chicken & Ham with Jambalaya Tomato Sauce. Dressed with Lettuce, Tomato & Mayo. Although not a traditional dish it was very tasty, especially after a few splashes of Tabasco! I have a complaint with many restaurants that serve jambalaya, it seems to frequently be very dried out. What was served on their freshly baked roll was moist and flavorful.
GF had a cup of Red Beans & Rice with Added Beef Hot Sausage...$6.95, pronounced it good except that the sausage was too spicy for her so I helped her out and enjoyed a taste of the red beans and rice with all the sausage!
I will be back soon to sample other items on their interesting menu.

i had an oyster po boy there, and it was pricey for a place that yu order at the counter, but still quite good. i'v heard the peel n eat bbq shrimp are supposed to be good. and also the gumbo everything in general. haven't been back up there for a return visit but i think it's definitely worth a try.
