last minute in Hollywood

Unexpectedly, I'm going to be up in LA at dinner time tonight. Hollywood. Neither of the the two places I would like to go -- Osteria Mozza or Hungry Cat -- has an online reservation available.

Is one or the other more likely to be accommodating to a walk-in?

Any suggestions for good restaurants (veggie, seafood, no land animals) that don't need or don't take reservations?

  1. I would try calling them also just in case there is a cancelation.

Other options: District, Ammo, Cleo, Delphine's.

    1. Osteria Mozza has first-come, first-served seating at the mozzarella and regular bars. Depending on timing and party size, that is definitely a viable option. I prefer the mozzarella bar and, when I have gone by myself, seldom have had much of a wait. In fairness, though, Saturday nights might be tougher. Conversely, for a walk in, Hungry Cat (which has a much smaller bar area) is often going to require a long wait.

      1. Hungry Cat and Mozza have bar seating. If you arrive for an early dinner I've never even had to wait. It does get more difficult as the evening goes on but neither is impossible.

        1. Thanks for your help, all. We're ending up at Hatfield's, which looks wonderful.
