Fréderic Simonin : OMG !!

Foodie Froggy Jan 29, 2011 02:25 AM

Yesterday, I had lunch at Fréderic Simonin, and all I can say is : wow ! i had the 38 euros menu, which is a bargain, given the quality of food we were served. It was simply incredible. You can watch my photos here (hope the link works) : https://cid-09ab8953f2f00519.photos.l...
The à la carte items were quite expensive (about 20 euros for a starter, 50-60 for a main and 10 for dessert) so we were expecting to have just OK food for the cheap menu, but you can trust me, it was unbelievable. I am sure this restaurant will get a michelin star very soon.
I will write a full review on my foodblog soon, but wanted to share my excitment. ;-)
)On the pictures, you can see an amuse-bouche with foie gras, parmesan and port reduction, then for me snails (yes) with hazelnuts and lettuce cream, my friend had an egg cooked in cocotte with mushroom cream, as a main we had "pattes noires" poultry, jerusalem artichoke and a very long macaroni in a truffle sauce, I had black inkfish risotto with baby squids and swiss chard. I am not a fan of black inkfish, but I was in an adventurous mood that day and OMG how tasty this dish was, with abolutely no acrid taste usually found in black ink fish. Desserts : a bayley's panna cotta with coffee ice-cream and coffee whipped cream, and a dome with praline, stuffed with pear bites and pear coulis.
Coffee was served with a financier and a soft caramel (coffee is not included in the price).
Well, all i can say, is go, go, go !

Why not add the photos to your post? An entry on CH shouldn't be about generating traffic to a blog.

I know, but I didn't know one could post photos here. Could you explain me how to do ?

When you open a reply or do a new topic there is a button that says "Attach Photo" simply search/browse for them on your PC and attach. Best to resize them first to make them small enough to upload, CH has a limit on size and they simply don't load if too big.

We went to Frederic Simonin after reading about it on Alex Lobrano's blog, and it was terrific: here's the review he wrote: http://hungryforparis.squarespace.com...

That't too bad about the link. I don't know how to fix it because it works for me.
The best I can do is to write my review very quick and post it on my blog.
