Super. I am unlikely to make it out there next week and would love to hear what you think.

Well....the women are gone, but the restaurant is pretty much the same. The tables and chairs all match now, but some of the colour is gone from the walls. The layout is exactly the same except that I seem to remember something behind the service counter where the microwave used to be. At least that is gone, so of they are still nuking things it is now hidden.

The menu is exactly the same. I mean, they are using the old menus with the Mexico Rico name still on them. Had the lengua tortas which is what I used to order. The bun is now quite a bit smaller and not quite right I think. It is a bit too dense. The change of serving size is really awesome. The filling was good, but not enough of it. I mentioned it to the waiter (server/part owner?) on my way out.

Service was as slow as it ever was, so if you are heading there for lunch, give yourself plenty of time. Took a serving of Tres Leches cake with me. Not good. A bit crumbly and not as tender as I like. Also it tasted a bit chemically. Reddi-Whip?

Sure wish that there was another Mexican/Central American place worth going to downtown. Not a good month for cheap eats. The Banh Mi place on Robson is gone, and I'm not going out of my way to Antojitos either.

That is disappointing, Tfh. Not making me want to run down there but maybe we'll give it a shot anyway once they're more settled in.
