I've sort of been out of the loop with the progress of the upcoming opening of the Wegman's store in the Columbia area. Any info concerning same?

Also, what about the Harris Tweeter that is scheduled to open in the Inner Harbor area? Am looking forward to both. FoiGras

The Harris Teeter (not Tweeter) is in progress, although it's not in the Inner Harbor. It's in Locust Point, more or less.

Thanks Hal. Am not in my right mind--two deaths in my family have rendered me somewhat mindless. Am attempting to focus on some positive areas--food, etc.

Yes, Locust Point should be the great location, better then the Inner Harbor.

But, once again, do you have any info on the Wegman's that is purported to open in the Columbia area sometime this Spring?

In any event, where have you been dining out of late. Haven't heard of your excursions into the culinary arena. You always seem to be on top of the latest places. Happy New Year. FoiGras

I've heard that they may need to find another location because the swamp that they want to build near is home to endangered Osprey and they don't want/are not permitted to disturb them.

Wegmans submitted building permits last Friday to build both the one-story store and a two-story parking garage. I assume they're still aiming at 2012.

The one in Lanham is already open. I plan on avoiding the Columbia one like the plague as I am sure it'll be completely and utterly overrun, permanently.
