In search of cookie platter

foodseek Jan 28, 2011 03:37 PM

Years back with chowhound help, I found my standby cookie platters decorated and filled by Emporio Rulli on Chestnut. I like to take these to friends as hostess gifts. I have been to Emporio Rulli in Larkspur after the Chestnut St. closing. Specifics of what I hope for in my search are delicate cookies -shortbread,linzer tortes, thumbprints, and wedding cookies. Actually any cookie which lends itself to an attractive display on a platter is great. Next week I am going to visit a family who have lost a loved one and it would be great to find a decorative platter of cookies without having to drive to Larkspur. I would so appreciate any suggestions. Thank you so much.

Do you have any suggestions for the east bay? Ideally Berkeley, Albany, N Oakland area?

I don't know of an Italian bakery over here.

K2 Restaurant Group's Artisan Foods is probably the closest, you can order their stuff through Berkeley Bowl West.
