10th wedding anniversary dinner in Providence

We live in DC but have to be in Providence for our anniversary. I know there are great places but don't know where to start. We are staying downtown and would rather not drive. That said, for the right meal we will travel. Thanks.

I suggest Chez Pascal (will require a car) and Gracie's (won't) , in that order. Lots of info about both (and more) if you do a board search.
    Happy Anniversary.

Thanks. Did the search and was looking for the most up to date feedback. Anything new and up and coming?

Where do you celebrate in DC? I'm very familiar with their restaurant scene. That could give me an idea about other rec's.

Nothing brand new/upcoming that I'm aware of. For big deal celebrations, I don't like to risk it on new places, though. I want someplace I know will do a great job.

I would have selected Komi, Restaurant Eve or more traditionaly Cironelle. Had a great meal at Bibiana recently and really enjoyed minibar when we went afew years back.

Great choices. We always stay at The Latham (rooftop pool!!) and love everything Michel Richard does.

I think you'd be happiest at Gracie's. Depending on where you're staying, you may have to cab it, but most likely you can walk. Also, while it's one of Providence's best, it's a teeny fraction of the cost of your above list.

Thanks. Opentable says I'm outside the reservation window. Will I have to call the day they open (ala Komi) to get a reservation?

Nah. A couple weeks before will be fine.

Loved it. We did the seven course tasting with wine pairings. Coming from DC it was a steal. My fish phobe husband even enjoyed (not just tolerated) the fish courses. The service was a great blend of friendly and professional. They really want to make the food accessible. Only complaint: the pork course was a little salty.
