Surprise 30th birthday party

Hey.. I'm trying to throw my boyfriend a surprise 30th bday party in New York.. The only thing is I have never been to new York.. Crazy I know! I need some suggestions for a venue.. I have found a couple of lofts but nothing that has caught my eye.. There is going to be approx 100 people comng.. I'm not trying to spend over a $1,000 dollars because I'm also taking him to Vegas right after..

Wow! What a lucky guy - your plans put the 30th b-day that I threw for my hubby to shame!! Do you want your venue in NYC or outside of the city limits? If you want to remain in NYC (Manhattan or the Outer Burroughs), post your questions on those boards, and they'll be glad to chime in.

Thank you for your reply..I would like the venue to be in either Manhattan or Brooklyn.. I found a loft in Manhattan that wants $1200 to rent the loft.. Now I'm waiting on someone from the dumbo loft?? to get back with me..
