Packaged kosher products in Paris markets

I am planning to be in Paris for a bit over a week next month, in an apartment. I know about the kosher butchers, markets, etc in particular neighborhoods. But I am wondering whether or not prepared packaged kosher products, refrigerated or frozen, are generally available in Paris supermarkets.

  1. First of all, have a great time. Paris is one of my favourite places.
There are a lot of kosher items in the regular grocery store but they can be hard to identify because they don't use hechshers in France. I was surprised to small find kosher sections in some stores in neighborhoods that were not religious.
Instead, you have to consult a list put out every year by the Bed Din. You can read the list online on the below link. You may want to print out the pages that you think you might use a lot.
You will be able to find a lot of cereals, Boursin (a soft, spreadable cheese), a vast variety of yogurt, very good chocolate (like Leonidas), canned/jarred veggies, vacuum-packed beets, pasta, jams, excellent butter, cookies and crackers... I'm not sure about prepared refrigerated or frozen meals but I think they had things like boxed couscous or rice pilafs.
You have to consult the list because sometimes one flavour of a product will be Kosher while another will not be.
    Hope this helps a bit.
