Martin Yan's Hidden China
This show has been airing for a while on PBS Create TV and I've really come to like it.
Why - less M.Y. kitchen schtick, more exploration of food as part of regional Chinese culture. The format reminds me of cookbooks that have interesting anecdotes with the recipes. Tommy Tang did a comparable show recently, mainly in Vietnam IIRC. Good to see improving production values.

So far I've only caught one episode. I enjoyed the show but was hoping for a little more cooking. Maybe other episodes have had a bit more. It is similar to Tommy Tang's recent show on Thailand in that it is more involved on a personal and people level. At the same time it has that travel/cooking aspect.
