Need Dinner for 2 Valentine's Day rec's
Any location (downtown pref'd), any price any cuisine (Greek, American or Italian pref'd). What's important is that the food is great and nice ambience. Sexy or rustic. Something special. Does not have to be over the top - somewhere when you leave you say 'that was so great'
Any rec's would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Looking for something special. Jane is good but average, Harrison too. Haven't heard of all so will look into them.

Gotcha - I wasn't sure of your budget, so I listed them roughly according to price point.

What's you top pick?

I'm not sure of your age and general tastes, but my top picks would probably be:
1. Ai Fiori - I think the food is amazing, but the atmosphere is typical of a hotel restaurant and might lack that special Valentine's Day ambiance
2. Convivio - I've always loved the Southern Italian menu, and the room is quite nice
3. SHO Shaun Hergatt - for French/Asian, a bit fussy, but quite good. Like Ai Fiori, it's a Setai hotel restaurant.
4. Cafe Boulud - lots of Chowhound fans, some dishes are very good, the crowd tends to be mature and very UES/Euro in the evenings

Apizz is frequently recommended here for good food + romantic ambiance, and my impression is that it's both sexy and rustic, but unfortunately I haven't eaten there myself. Hopefully someone else will chime in and agree/disagree.

Apizz is one of my favorites and the best suggestion so far IMO BUT we have been there a few times. Looking for something different. All others....Supper, Frankies all great food but not the exact vibe I am looking for. Something like Apizz but a place we have not been to.
Thank you all.

Frankie's Spuntino on Clinton (and in Brooklyn) is taking Valentine Reservations.

What about Supper? It kind of fits both the sexy and rustic vibe and the food is always very good, in my opinion. Not sure if they're doing anything special for Valentine's.

Supper is very very small, but warm and yummy. They don't usually take reservations, so I don't know. Frankie's doesn't either, but they are making an exception for V. day.
