"Home" or "Room" themed restaurant needed

RGreenSC Jan 26, 2011 07:41 PM

I'm racking my brains for an appropriate spot to have lunch with my bookclub friends this month. I'm thinking a "home" or "room" themed/named place. Like Home, or The Pantry. Or even a restaurant in a house, like Grub. Any ideas?

The Raymond in Pasadena was the first thing that came to mind as well. What about going to a tea house? The Four Seasons in Sierra Madre is pretty homey.

I have a perfect place for you--The Aroma Cafe on Tujunga Ave in Studio City which shares the same "home" with Portrait of a Bookstore

Thanks so much for this suggestion! Aroma Cafe was perfect--everyone loved the food and the ambiance. Just what we were looking for.

There is a 1908 Craftsman style home that houses Off Vine: http://offvine.com/homepage.htm in Hollywood.

What part of the Greater Los Angeles area would be best ? You didn't say.

Novel Cafe - Westwood - Upstairs = which is small and has bookcase(s) with books.

Right name for a book club.
          Not expensive.
3 blocks from the 405, and with a 1 (or 2?) hour free parking garage on Broxton 1 & 1/4 blocks away (scroll down):

The original dining area of Pacific Dining Car is an actual railroad car.

If you know anyone affiliated with Caltech, you can book the Library at the Athenaeum.
