Visiting Scottsdale - Looking for must-try recommendations
Hello,
I will be visiting Scottsdale from Calgary, Alberta and am interested in hearing what some of the best restaurants, etc. are. We will be staying at the Westin Kierland, but will be out and about getting some shopping in. I am a non-fussy pescatarian, and my companion is pretty open minded about food as well (although prefers to stay away from asian, and heavily spiced foods).
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee (definitely a huge coffee lover), treats - you name it! Just looking for some local recommendations.
Thanks in advance!

Love Lon's at the Hermosa...
Cafe Bink is wonderful...Binkley's too.
T. Cook's at the Royal Palms..
Everyone has given you great advice! -
Check out the seafood at Noca. They seem to go out of their way to procure special, quality seafood. Also I love the ceviche at Deseo in your hotel. For sure have some mojitos or other muddled fruit drinks and ceviche in the bar there. They are very good.
IMO, its hard to find superb coffee or espresso in PHX. Maybe someone else has a suggestion of a place I don't know about.

re: hohokam
Noca looks right up my alley! Thanks.
I'd be happy to travel for good coffee, it there happen to any that you think are worth the drive? So far, everything I've heard has been in line with the previous comment, that superb coffee is hard to find in the area.

For coffee up in that neighborhood, I'd recommend Press Coffee.

Well, Deseo is on my list. I don't recall much recent mention of Mastro's Ocean Club, here, but, Zinc Bistro still gets mentioned. I would research all three for what you are looking for, in the immediate area.

Just last night I was at Metro Brasserie for a casual birthday dinner. I have read some mixed reviews on the restaurant, a lot of raves and some real complaints about service; but then I started to notice a trend that for the most part, the complaints all seemed to center on service during weekend brunch. I think they must just be crazy busy during it, and so things suffer. I decided to disregard those since in this case, I was only concerned about dinner.
I had an amazing time. Since you're a pescatarian I have to tell you that the Moules Frites and it was just off the hook good. I absolutely loved it. I don't know what they do to their fries, but I hope they keep doing it - the best I think I may have ever had. My sister had the cheeseburger, and said it was super flavorful; she really loved it. So...yeah. If you happened to go down into Old Town Scottsdale (quite a bit south of where you're staying but very worth seeing) You may want to consider it, depending on your tastes and preferences. Either way, I hope you have a great visit!!
