BFI Southbank / Waterloo tube stop [London]

[London] Any suggestions in walking distance of BFI Southbank / Waterloo tube stop? I'm new in town, and looking for some good stuff in that area. Thanks!

There's only one place I'm going if I am in that area and it is the Anchor & Hope. As you are local take advantage of the fact you can get there early or go on a less popular night, so you don't have a long wait for a table. Every time I have been the wait has been at least an hour, but it has been worth it.

The BFI has two restaurants. The upstairs one is crowded, buzzy, quite good fun but over-priced. I really like the downstairs cafe for lunch. A few months ago I had some of the best chips EVER there.

        RSJ is a fave.

What kind of food/budget are you after?

If you're after dinner ideas, RSJ and Anchor & Hope are both excellent... and terrific fish and chips at Master's Superfish ... about 3 blocks from the station.

          I second Masters Superfish.
Far superior to the Golden Hind.
If you don't mind a 20 min walk along the river to London Bridge there's Wrights Oyster bar and other interesting stuff near Borough Market

Welcome to London, if you give your budget/preferences you may get a better response?

This guys Mexican stall in Waterloo is authentic and excellent for informal/inexpensive lunch:

Agree. Just make sure you get there early. Between 1200 and 1230 is good.
