Lunch Near Fort Lauderdale Museum of Art

We're going to try the Vatican Treasures exhibit. Need a "late lunch" spot, not crowded, to decompress before getting back out on the Interstate. What's good and relaxed, near the Museum?

  1. YOLO on Las Olas is a few blocks East and has a good atmosphere, good food and also outdoor dining (if you want that)... or if you prefer more casual spot you could try Rok Brgr which is a few blocks West on 2nd St... they have been open about 1month and have a great selection or burgers, apps, and some other comfort food style entrees.

Cafe Europa is also on Las Olas and is very good. We also like the crepe restaurant on Las Olas for salads or crepes.

      Las Olas Cafe
922 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

      Cafe Europa
726 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301

    2. Not within walking distance but since it sounds like you have a car:

      11th Street Annex
      14 SW 11th Street
      Fort Lauderdale, FL

Only open for lunch M-F and first Saturday of the month.

      Within walking distance:

      Bluejay's Cafe
      330 SW 2nd Avenue
      Fort Lauderdale, FL

Wow! Miaedu beat me to the punch on two of my suggestions. I also recommend 11th Street Annex and Bluejays (the spicier of the two). I would add in the downtown Library as another great decompression spot.

        1. re: LiveRock

Downtown library isn't very nice due to all the homeless that live / hangout there nowadays, they have one of the largEst population of homeless in Broward county according to the sun sentinel :/

          1. re: LiveRock

Bluejay's is spicier how? I like really spicy food.

            1. re: aynrandgirl

Bluejay's is spicy in a Southwestern kind of way. Many, but not all of their selections include green chiles, poblanos, chipotle, and such. They put a lot of care into their food and it's always on my list for downtown recommendations.

              1. re: LiveRock

i have to second bluejays. i thought it was very good! the sweet potato fries were awesome!!

        2. I had a really good burger today at Rok Brgr. They also have a nice selection of craft beers

          1. 11th St Annex, Charcuterie Too (yes there are a lot of homeless folks outside), ROK:BRGR are all great options, but let me also recommend Barbara Young Bakery on Las Olas for some incredible and inexpensive shrimp n' grits, lobster bisque or salads. Its very cute, very relaxing and very tasty,

Yep. Specifically, it's right next to the 7-11's parking lot.

i suggest just trying sushi rock. was there last night and it was some of the best sushi ive ever had!

              2. I went to 11th St Annex for lunch this week. It was cute, relaxing, comfortable, and free easy parking...the food was all homemade, but not great. No menu and they had a choice of about 5 sandwiches that day (all were $9) served with very good macaroni salad. Saw it on Check, Please and wanted to try it.
