Back up place for brunch with a crowd (and kids) in Silver Spring?

We've planned on meeting friends for dim sum at Oriental East on Sunday only to realize that its the weekend before Chinese New Year and it might be even crazier than the usual craziness there. Its going to be 6 adults and 3 kids (2 of whom are in high chairs). Our plan is to get there no later than 11 so we are in line and won't have to wait too long but I wanted to know if any one had any back up suggestions like a good diner or something near by (NOT Eggspectations) just in case we decide to bail. Thanks.

Thanks folks. We ended up having no problem at all at Oriental East (of course, we got there at 10:40 and waited in line for 20 minutes but made it in the first round of seatings - just barely). But it is good to know there are options out there - especially that there are reservations available at Hollywood East.

Hollywood East in Wheaton Plaza does reservations for dim sum if that helps? Maybe it is not as good I don't go enough for dim sum.

Hollywood East has awesome dim sum. I had no idea they take reservations, thanks for the info. Note that their new location is INSIDE the mall, as explained on their website.

I called HE and they said they took reservations for weekend dim sum - I have not ever made a reservation there.

I know that there are always lines at Oriental East, but I've always thought that Hollywood East had better dim sum.

The Daily Dish on Grubb Rd (same strip mall as Parkway Deli) accepts reservations on Open Table so you don't even have to wait.

I would not suggest the Daily Dish, very poor reviews on here and in my personal experience pretty bad. I'd recommend instead the Royal Mile Pub in Wheaton which does a very nice order off the menu seated brunch on Sat and Sun until 2. You will definitely be able to get a seat.
