Theater district lunch?

Hi All - Doing a NYC day next month, seeing a show and doing dinner at DB Bistro Moderne. Looking to add a nice lunch to the mix, was thinking Esca...Batali has always been good to me :)

Is there a better lunch option in that area I should be considering???

Thanks!

The theatre distict is a fairly large area (42 St - 52 St.). I enjoy Marseille on W. 44 St. & 9th Ave. If you'd rather be north of that area, Ma Peche on W. 56 St. between 5th & Ave. of the Americas is another excellent choice.

We've been to Esca once about 10 years ago. That experience was so disappointing in every respect that I've never been able to get myself to give it another chance.

If you're looking for seafood, I highly recommend Oceana, on the corner of 49th & 6th (the McGraw Hill Bldg). Delicious food, top-notch service, and very pleasing atmospherics.

Another excellent seafood option, especially for whole grilled fish, is the Greek restaurant Kellari Taverna. It's on the same block at dbBistro.

I am a big Kellari fan and they have an excellent, prix fixe ($25.95) lunch menu.
