printing. why not just the thread?

on top of a thread are a couple of buttons. Save to Profile, Email, Print, Share.

why when you select print does it not just print the thread? i found a thread that had 2 nice recipes and 2 really short posts.

i hit print and got 8 pages including headers, footers, links, sidebar pictures (Most Popular, etc).

2 pages of the thread with recipes and 6 wasted pages of useless paper wasting printout. this button seems no better than selecting the Print option in your browser

  1. The setup for printing has always been like that and many of us mentioned it. Best advice I can offer is to use a common cut & paste function into an open file on your desktop, print it off and save or delete the file. Not ideal but better than wasted paper & ink.

If you are on a PC can't you highlight the portion of the thread you want and then print "selection" to avoid getting all that extraneous stuff?

that would work & will be done in the future (or the other suggestion of cut/paste into another file).

it doesn't answer my question on why the button does not function in a logical manner.

like in my Web based email browser, if i hit the "print" button for a particular email that is open, it is just that email that prints, not the header, any banner ads, a list of my folders on the left, etc.

Chow might as well eliminate the button because it serves no useful purpose. i can hit Ctrl-P faster than scrolling to the top of the page and hitting that button with my mouse.

I opened a problem ticket with our Engineering Team. Our print template was fixed for awhile, but seems to be broken again, unfortunately.

Nope. I still wind up with extra blank pages.
