Farhat is history!

  • 9

I was just driving along Lawrence and it appears that Farhat has packed up shop! Am I wrong, were my eyes deceiving me?

  1. i went into rami (took over nasr) and i didn't walk to the end of the plaza but the big farhat resto was replaced and the small end location looked in disrepair and not open.

    i think it is so....

    1. Nope it's gone.

Noticed it too when I popped into Rami's Market last week.

I remember waiting in line for 20 minutes last time I went to Farhat's about 4 years ago.
I think the sitdown restaurant next door did them in..

I think people are referring to the old location which was the east end corner of a plaza. They opened a new location thats basically right beside the Tim Hortons at Warden and Lawerence, on the same block just to the west of Timmies.

Not sure if thats the location that people are saying is gone or not but they did move over the past id say 6 monthes

GUYS........FARHAT is now open (today)...get this....IN THE ORIGINAL TAKE OUT LOCATION!!! Same guys, same good quality, same competitive pricing.

When we were there for lunch today (Jan.31) the shwarma cookers are going full-blast and a few (3?) tables were setup. And....more equipment was being transferred from across the street as we finished lunch.

              well thats kinda strange...

Even more strange is why you didnt go to Nasibs accross the street(since Shawarma Empire is closed mondays)!

in all seriousness, Farhat was good on occasion but there have been too many times when the meat had grissley parts or the odd bone fragment, which results in everything in my mouth going into the garbage. Not cool!

I'm a longtime Farhat customer. Went there today after a long hiatus and I can confirm that indeed the Farhat brothers are back behind the counter at the same old location. They had the beef, chicken, spicy chicken and LAMB (my favorite) rotiseries going. When i got there, they just put out a massive (probably 15" diameter) round of lamb out...so I didn't get my usual lamb shawarma. The spicy chicken was good.

All shawarmas are 2 for $5.99.

I used to love the Farhat lamb shawarma, before their 'demise'. Did it look like they were ready to roll out top quality shawarmas, or the less than perfect ones they eventually served?

I wish the lamb shawarma was ready because that's what I usually order. Having said that I really liked the spicy chicken. The beef was OK.

I would say the bros. are back. Try it for yourself and report back.
