The bison burger at CS is my favorite burger in SD, but it's too expensive to eat often. My faves are CS, Alchemy, and Toronado.

I like getting the bison burger with double chile, bacon and an egg but no bun.

You should probably start another thread for the best French Dip sandwiches in San Diego.

Brett's BBQ has a Tri Tip Dip that's to die for. You get a generous amount of tri tip on a great roll that holds up nicely with the au jus. It comes with a side of horseradish, deli pickle and your choice of any one of their side dishes. I'd put this sandwich with up there with any other one that I've had including ones at high-end restaurants. There are two Brett's locations - Rancho Bernardo and Escondido. Oh, yeah...and the BBQ is also authentic and outstanding!

thats also a very open ended question..
what u may like may be vastly different from what i like ..or what anybody else likes...
you pretty much have to go around and taste them for yourself ..which of course is the best part...

and i agree-- french dip and burgers probably should be separate threads...

My best burger was at Mille Fleurs.

jayne's gastropub - their burger still shines through year after year as my favorite in sd.

Far north end of 30th Street near Adams

I will concur that they do have a very good burger.

Also agree. I stopped eating meat two years ago, and Jayne's burger is pretty much the only meat dish I crave. Love those house pickeled onions.
