Kingsport TN dining suggestions

Will be staying 4 nights in Kingsport, TN. What are some "not miss" places?. Wound like suggestions for great food of any kind. Thanks!

If you're visiting Kingsport, one Chowhound states the obvious - you'll have to try lunch at Pal's Sudden Service. It's a fast-food joint, but they have a one of kind Hot Dog experience and their Cheddar Rounds and Razzie Tea are a favorite. If you're looking for a great burger with a local flavor, try Sloopys restaurant. They're fun and have great shakes. For a bit more interesting food, put Guiseppe's on your list for Italian Food. If you like sushi or Thai, give Stir Frye in Downtown Kingsport a try. While in downtown, The Bonefire Smokehouse has great barbecue and ribs, but it's more a casual experience with a little does of blues and bluegrass to boot. The Chop House is a bit more fine dining, but you'll enjoy the chops there. As mentioned, Johnson City offers a little more variety and you can look up Bodega 105 for Cuban Food or if you really want a great restaurant with a elegant setting, choose Troutdale Dining Room in Bristol.

Thank you for your reply. I was sorry to hear that Riverfront Seafood Co is not worth the time. We love seafood. Scrat ch Brick Oven sounds perfect for take-out one night!

I used to live in Johnson City and work in Kingsport, so these are old stomping grounds! :-) You'll have to eat lunch at one of the Pal's restaurants. Best overall fast food restaurant I've ever encountered and a favorite among local residents - their service is fast, orders are always accurate, and the food is good! Also, if you're up for a bit of a drive, head down to Cootie Brown's in Johnson City or Ridgewood BBQ in Bluff City, both are about 20 minutes from Kingsport proper. Scratch Brick Oven in Johnson City is also awesome but it's mostly a take-out place (pizza and bread.) Skip the Riverfront Seafood Co. in Kingsport, it's not worth your time. Hope that helps!
