How do I get to my "Reviewed List"?
I have just started using Chow a few hours ago. My intention is to review the restaurants I have been to so I can keep a record of them and also share with friends. I noticed that there are options of "my posts" but was very surprised to find that there is not an option to see easily all the restaurants I have reviewed. Is this function missing or it's just that I have not found where it is? I would very surprised if this is not available.. which should be quite a basic function for all food review website!!
However, there are a few things that could be done
1. Only use the "Save to my profile" button at the top of your reports, for your reports. That way if you or a friend click in the "favorites" link on your profile page you will see all your reports.
If you want to save favorites that are not reviews, create a Chowhound folder in your browser and add them there. Then your 'favorites' list is only your reviews.
2. Put something unique in your review so you can search on it. At the end of your review you can always add some nonsense string like "czczcz" and then use search to find everything with that and you as a user.
These are not all my reports, but I always put the city and country in the title of my Gautemalan reports so this is everything I've reported on Antigua.
Then you can just send the URL to your friends.
The above wasn't the perfect example because of the way the search string is parsed. However, say you added "lespoirreview" (no space) at the end of your reviews. Search would pick only that up because it is unique.
It is too bad the list function was changed or that could have been another way to do it.
I've seen this request before on the boards. There is already a box to allow users to indicate "This is a review of a specific restaurant". That adds the review to the Restaurant database. Maybe Chow could add into the Restaurant search the field "user name". Seems like a win, win situation. The people who want this function could find their reivews. It might encourage others to start using this under-utilized option so the Restaurant database would have more reviews in it.
