It's rice vermicelli that's deep fried to light and crispy texture and coated with a sweet and tangy tamarind sauce. It's served with bean sprouts and slivered omelette. It's not a noodle dish but an appetizer. I like the version they make at Pongsri - both the 48th and 23rd street locations are good.
