Any recent visits to...
Greetings fellow hounds!
I have had great luck in the past with getting positive responses from you about places to nosh, so I'm hoping this goes just as well! Coming from the North Shore i'm always looking for different restaurants to check out while in town...esp. off the beaten path or not so "touristy"
I'm attending an event next Thur. at the MFA, should be over by 830ish and looking to grab dinner
either before or after...nothing too fancy but def. looking for great food...I would prefer not to have to relocate my car from the MFA lot, so i'm looking for someplace w.i reasonable walking distance. I've seen posted on here suggestions for The SAVANT PROJECT and The Squealing Pig...has anyone been there in the recent? Are either of these places "chow" worthy?? Open to other restaurants as well w/i the same price range...
before people have suggested Trattoria Toscana on Jersey St. Which was amazing!! So thanks to those who recommended there! it was Va Bene!! and will go back at some point.
looking forward/open to your suggestions! Chow on foodies!

The fish and chips and a nice pint at the Squealing Pig is my usual post-MFA stop. I was just in there two weeks ago today after finally getting over to the Avedon show and it was its usual cozy self.

Go early to the MFA. The new wing hype is not going to calm down for a while. I'm ready for the Squealing Pig!

it sounds as if The Squealing Pig is a front winner thus far...is it a far walk from the MFA?
Any other suggestions in the vicinity...just want to cover all "plates" so to speak...

It's about 4.5 blocks (.57 miles according to gmaps pedometer.) The Savant Project and Flames Carribean are another couple of blocks further.

I'd suggest Penguin Pizza as well. They (a bit surprisingly) have really good pizza and numerous other options to choose from on their menu as well.
Just be aware of the college crowd in the area on a Thursday night.

The Savant Project is not good. OK for a drink - but the food is disappointing.
