Rehearsal dinner space near downtown, echo park, highland park...

I'm looking for a place to hold a rehearsal dinner for my wedding somewhere near my venue/hotel. Our event will be in cypress park and guests are staying downtown. I need something that can accommodate about 40 ppl and is pretty inexpensive. Mexican may be a good fit. I'm open to all suggestions. Any ideas? Thanks!

The patio at the Bonaventure Brewing Company might be nice?

Border Grill Downtown (the old Ciudad space) has several spaces that would work for a party that size.

Cafe Pinot may even be within that budget or close to it

(this is his fiance) Probably under $50 a person including tax + tip would be ideal. We would like to keep it at $2k or under total if possible.

If that's the case, you might want to consider Taix. http://taixfrench.com/banquets.html

                      I think they are fine.

Certainly not fine dining, but for the price and banquet facilities you certainly could do much worse.

I like their sherbert, and a dear friend of mine really enjoys their shephard's pie.

                      Anyhow, just a suggestion.

Good luck on your search and congrats.

Taix was the first place that came to mind before I knew what they were willing to spend.

Even at 50/pp with tax and tip, I think Taix would still work, no?

it should work unless there are some very serious drinkers!
