Client Lunches in Palo Alto Area

Mari Jan 20, 2011 03:06 PM

I am trying to find nice, expense account-type restaurants to recommend to a friend who has to entertain clients over lunch. He is specifically looking for places in Palo Alto and is going to get bored of Evvia and The Four Seasons. It seems to me that those 2 will be the most formal places in the area, but are there any other restaurants that will make a nice impression (of course, no PF Chang's or hole in the wall even if the food is good).

My only other suggestion so far is the Empire Tap Room.

Tamarine is another good bet, as are St. Michael's Alley and Tai Pan.

Junoon, Pampas & Joya. Found the food extremely greasy on my last visit to Tamarine. Of course I prefer the food at Evvia. May be Zibibbo?

Venturing into Menlo Park will give you added options of Marche & Madera at the Rosewood.

how about some places along California like Jin Sho
(Evvia is the most reliable nice food, Pampas and Joya are good happy hour places, Tamarine is ok)
        Baume Fri only Lunch
        Kaygetsu Lunch
for me, Madera and Village Pub don't live up to their star, but for ambiance Rosewood is perfect

I vote for this above all my recs...just couldn't think of the name & didn't think it was open for lunch.

Bistro Elan is indeed a great choice. I'd also recommend Mayfield Bakery & Cafe and Vero while staying in Palo Alto.
