Best Sushi in Northern NJ

Chuonfood Jan 20, 2011 07:07 AM

I'm looking for o-toro, uni, chu-toro, etc in northern new jersey sushi restaurant. It's too cold sometimes to go to the city when craving for these little things. Thanks.

this may not qualify as "northern" but Shumi in Somerville is THE BEST in NJ....as long as you sit with Ike and Jack at the bar. Much better than Sakura Bana

Yuki Hana in Butler is excellent, but also quite expensive.Mr. Sushi in Lincoln Park is pretty good and reasonable.

Yoshi Sono in West Orange is excellent. For many years it was the best in the area and it slipped a bit but they are back . It's the freshest I've had in Jersey and comparable to some of NYC sushi places. My only issue with them that the decor is a bit worn.

Azora in Montclair is also very good.

I have not been in a couple of years, but Wild Nigiri, formerly Wild Ginger in Englewood is well regarded.....friends also feel Umeya in Cresskill is tops.
