Silver Lake vegetarian

I'm going to lunch in Silver Lake with relatives on Friday and want to try someplace new. Must be vegetarian friendly for my nephew, but doesn't have to be vegan. We've been to Forage and will never pay $14 for a veggie burger at Dusty's. Silver Lake adjacent is fine. Unfortunately, Indian won't do since one of us just doesn't like it.

This reply is probably too late, but for future reference, Gobi is a place you can make a delicious vegetarian dish for yourself.

I keep hearing that ELF is the best vegetarian restaurant on the East side. I've even heard this from a few meat eaters.

That may be true, but it doesn't mean much. Despite all the hipsters, there is not much in terms of vegetarian restaurants in that area. Elf isn't horrible, but it's overpriced for what it is, and the food really could be a lot better.

I think Elf and Cru are the best vegetarian restaurants in Silver Lake. For just vegetarian friendly, I'd consider Marouch and Farfalla.

          Gingergrass

Thanks. The tofu at Gingergrass is good, but the place is just too noisy, especially if anyone in your group is at all hard of hearing.

I just tried Mustard Seed Cafe on Hillhurst for the first time, and it was surprisingly good.

I've been eating there for years and never had anything less than a great meal. Rosemary turkey burger with grilled onions on mixed greens is addictive. Huge menu, No weak spots.

Their menu looks really good, with some nice veggie choices. I think we'll go there. Thanks.
